Chase Elliott out indefinitely after tibia surgery

NASCAR driver Chase Elliott is recovering from a three-hour surgery to repair a broken tibia, Hendrick Motorsports general manager Jeff Andrews confirmed Saturday.

There is no timeline for Elliott’s return to action. He will be replaced by Josh Berry in the No.9 Chevrolet for Sunday’s Cup Series race in Las Vegas.

Elliott, 27, was injured in a snowboarding accident on Friday in Colorado.

The 2020 Cup Series champion underwent the surgery on Friday night.

A five-time NASCAR Cup Series most popular driver, Elliott finished second last Sunday in the Pala free online casino slots 400 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif.
